Just acquired this new piece out of antique shop in NY. Opinions and comments welcomed.

Congrats on your find. It looks almost exactly like mine from the same unit, high punched EGA and a very crude and simple Indian head. American or British shell? Does it have its liner and is it named named?

It appears good to me but in hand is always better. Good find!!

I like it as well! Is the ega hole punched? Can you see a name anywhere, maybe on the chin strap? If ega's are present, the fifth Marines almost always posted them high, and the 6th low. Once again I like it from what I see and think you probably found good one. Kevin

Also, this helmet is named W. Drowes or W. O/D Rowes. Does anyone know how to research this possible name and see if it matches up?

There was a William H Rowe in 3/5, but no Rowes or Drowes comes up for the 4th Brigade.
