dunmore1774 Posted July 25, 2018 Share #1 Posted July 25, 2018 Here are a few young MP's in the Philippines, I'm guessing c.1900? Picture taken at Galatea Portrait Studio in Manila. One of them is Private J. Carpenter, HQ Co 2nd (?) Bat., 27th US Infantry- Stationed at Schofield barracks in Hawaii at some point. Pvt. Carpenter may have been from the Johnstown, Pennsylvania area. MP25 Posted July 26, 2018 Share #2 Posted July 26, 2018 Great photo! The 27th Inf. Regt. left the Philippines in 1904 and was deployed to Camp Sheridan, IL. After service in Cuba, Texas, and again in the Philippines, the Regiment sailed to Vladivostok, Siberia, in 1918, as part of the Allied Expeditionary Force. This photo would have been taken sometime during their second deployment in the Philippines. I have been unable to find the exact dates for that second deployment. My best guess would be between 1914 and 1918.
GIl Sanow Posted July 26, 2018 Share #3 Posted July 26, 2018 The coats and hats are definitely post 1912, so that should help. This pattern with blackened bronze insignia was worn until about 1924 G.
ron norman Posted September 23, 2018 Share #4 Posted September 23, 2018 They are both wearing the 1910 Mills Garrison belt so I believe that would have be after 1910. Ron Norman
