Hello

I picked up a few patches over the weekend.

• I know what the beret flashes are, I am just not sure if they are real?
• I don’t have a good feeling about the flashes.
• The round patch with swords and lightning bolts, I have no idea?
• Yellow shield with stars? (I think it’s a repo.) Does not glow.
• Red hexagon with triangle ?
• I believe the small round patches, ATC & Civil Air were worn on OS caps?
• The rigger patch Nam era?

This is your best patch in the group.

Can't remember the exact id but it is a quartermaster trucking company from WWII and is very hard to find.

The small round patch with the winged prop is a CAP Cadets flight cap patch. Used from Nov. 1942 until it was phased out in mid 1984. (P.S. a Flight Cap is what ground pounders call an overseas cap or a garrison cap.) The older versions were fully embroidered while later on they were embroidered on twill.

Your gut feeling about the Flashes is probably correct. There are embroidered on felt 1st SF Flashes but they are much smaller.

The 11th and 46th (if that is what it is supposed to be since it has bends dexter instead of sinister) having a common backing material is a clue as to their being knock offs.

The 222nd Pathfinder Flash may be a early unit made version, if so the Good Score.

Again, just my opinion.

The beret flashes remind me of those made in Alaska in the late 1970s. They were worn on the OD Green Beret until outlawed in 1979.
