Well, a buddy came over yesterday and did some horse trading ( no pun intended LOL) but ended up with this Saddle, pretty much complete except missing the bit, first one I have ever owned, most of the white wool is still present. Now what to do with it since I don't have a horse LOL

Nice looking rig, usually the coat straps are missing, also great to have the girth strap, those are also hard to find. They are maker marked and dated on the upper part of the rear of the saddle, some are unit marked. Find or build a saddle stand, toss an old army blanket on the stand, put the saddle on it and enjoy owning this bit of history! I would suggest not to try to ride it and resist the urge to put anything on the leather. Of course, you'll have to get saddle bags, an "03 rifle scabbard, picket pin case, M1913 "Patton" Sword, it never ends!

Thanks for posting it.

Very nice.

It's rare to find nice unmessed with '04 saddles these days and yours is a cracking find
