Johnny Signor Posted July 16, 2018 Share #1 Posted July 16, 2018 Not sure where/when I saw this one, some time ago , personw as needing help with "ID" to the color leather one, I recently found the booklet showing the same emblem on the cover, Navy related, I though USAAF , but it appears I was wrong on that, hope this helps BTW was told the PeP was a pilots name abbreviated . Yardstick Posted January 3, 2021 Share #2 Posted January 3, 2021 My educated guess based on the emblem and info on the manual (and date) would be something to do with Operation Aphrodite - a project to use war weary B-17 as radio controlled glider bombs. JFK's elder brother Patrick was killed when the explosives laden PB4Y he was piloting prematurely detonated on the first mission of Operation Anvil the US Navy's part of this joint services project.
