patches Posted July 17, 2018 #4 Posted July 17, 2018 So these were worn by the cadets? were there different branches represented, say a Crossed Sabres, Signal Corps Flags etc, these being worn by a cadet say who would chose these branches after graduation, or were they all engineer?

I've seen VPI disks with a winged prop.
VolunteerArmoury Posted July 17, 2018 #6 Posted July 17, 2018 Virginia Tech’s formal name is Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University with VPI still as one of its initials as well as VT. I’m not sure I’m recalling this correctly but I believe they still wear these with the VPI & the seniors commissioning wear the branch insignia with lower class cadets wearing the ROTC torch. I’ll see if I can find a reference on that.
