52m37 Posted July 15, 2018 Share #1 Posted July 15, 2018 I have a basic para wing, clutch back, with no back markings. The feathers on the wings are highly detailed, looks similar to a J. Balme wing. Any help IDing the maker and time period will be appreciated. Thanks Hal PS sorry for the 2 pics. It would not allow me to delete one.
triplecanopy Posted July 15, 2018 Share #2 Posted July 15, 2018 A clear photo of the reverse side would help. It looks like it might be an Assmann & Sohne front design since they were known for the extra detail in the feathers.
52m37 Posted July 15, 2018 Author Share #3 Posted July 15, 2018 Here is the revers side. The master wing is a J. Balme, France wing.
triplecanopy Posted July 16, 2018 Share #4 Posted July 16, 2018 There is an opinion that Assmann made a number of unmarked wings. Usually their badges are marked with a number and the letter A with an extended crossbar. The front side has the detailed feathers that was a notable feature on Assmann jump wings. The Balme wings also have extra detail, but the two are not at all related.
