Some new patches - WWI USMC 6th Machine Gun Bn, Velvet and Wool versions

Here are some pics of some of my newest patches! Made two different versions of a WWI patch for the Marine Corps 6th Machine Gun Battalion. One is a 4 1/2" velvet version, and the other a 3 1/2" wool version, both with different indian heads. This is the first time I've ever had to do a patch on velvet, and I have to say, I was super happy with the results. I really liked the outcome of the velvet, and really could feel that it would be a nice option when actually wearing a patch.

 

I haven't gotten to try my hand at many Great War patches, but a member commissioned me to make several different USMC indian head patches, so I really have been having some fun!

Thanks! I really enjoyed these! The wool-on-wool take less time than the embroidered ones, but I love to do them! The Great War wool patches tend to be my favorites.
