Long forgotten? Photo of P-51 "Bad Angel"

Year ago, I bought a group of photographs from the estate of a local WW2 veteran. Today, while sorting through a box of slides I found a film canister with a roll of negatives. This was one of the pictures. There's also a few of the fliers. I'm sure these haven't seen the light of day in a long time.

So, from a box in the loft of my store, via my Wolverine converter, to the forum, a period photo of the "Bad Angel". I'm sure there's plenty of pictures of this plane, but interesting just the same.

I'm glad you both liked the photograph. Here is another one from the same lot.

Crazy story about this man and his plane.

Kills from all 3 Axis countries and 1 American kill.

The pilot of Bad Angel got the Distiguished Cross for shooting down an American plane with his girlfriend inside.

I hadn't ever seen one painted like that either. But, after these pictures make the rounds, I won't be surprised if a couple don't turn up.

Peter, your remark made me execute a google search to find out what was going on...…...amazing story! Makes these great pictures all the more special.

Fantastic photos! Are they identified on the back?

Thanks. Actually they were from a roll of negatives. I converted them to digital media via Wolverine 4 in 1 converter. They were from the estate of John Bickel. There were also some interesting bridge photos. Bickel was with an engineering unit. Also some nice pictures of some Japanese gun emplacements.
