Have you contacted Bill Shea of the Ruptured Duck?

 

He has a bunch of Rommel items that he got from the son.

 

He might be someone intelligent to talk to.

 

Contacted and received a reply....

with all the photos of the bar and the veteran being in that area,and the fact that he had other items from rommel if it were mine i would be confident it was his..............and i'm hard to convince..............dave

Ron, I think it's safe to say that you are in the possession of one of Rommels ribbon bars.

Ron the petting zoo would be OK till one of the guys from Missouri show up and that could get a little awkward. Please bring it would just like to see it in person...

Having researched many German ribbon bars and medal bars back to the original owners I feel confident that this bar belonged to Rommel. According to the award rolls no other Wurttemberger had these same awards, congrats.
