:) "LIFE" 27 April 1942, Page 4. "ARMY HOSTESS UNIFORMS: 'Sirs: Here's something else about "KODIAK BEAR [LIFE, 30 March 1942)." The "Range Finder," published for Camp Callan in La Jolla at the southern tip of California, is mailed each week to the den of the Kodiak Bear. The editor requests cuts if something catches his eye. The enclosed story and pictures on different conceptions of Army hostesses ran in the "Range Finder recently. Impressions were paperized by Artist-Author Corporal John Zane. They were sent to Lieut. Craft last week at his request, and may eventually merge from the far north via the "Bear." The various uniforms would be desigened by 1) ESQUIRE, 2) Harper's Bazaar, and 3) the Army Manual. Ernest K. Hill, 1st Lieut., C.A.C., Camp Callan, California.'"
