Time to give up collecting

Recommended Posts

If you paid this much for a woman's boutique something, wrapped in drapery cords and any military button that could be found, with a "ultra-rare" artillery/infantry combination helmet plate (are you kidding!?).....you should probably just go ahead and give up collecting militaria as your hobby. Maybe try something easier like Matchbox car collecting or new-issue postage stamps from the post office.

Sorry, I just couldn't help myself...

I like the chain that probably once held a gate closed. Nice touch.

That seller has been discussed here multiple times he has a mix of original and totally fake items but he has developed a massive following and anything he puts in auction does very very well in most cases! I would advise all to be weary of his items! He post many things with COAs which are also rather suspicious!

Please Remember the Following Service Members who have passed on!

Manley S Webb- 1925-2006 US Navy WW2

James W Boutilier - 1921-1983 US Navy Seabees WW2

Russell W Haight - 1876-1953 Spanish American War, Cuban Pacification, Mexican Border War NYNG

A COA on this item would be useless as he doesn't allow return priviledges....Bodes

When bad items pop up I watch them too, mostly as a reference to see what they end up going or for forum discussion. Probably shouldn't do that since it may fool some people when they think "lots watching = must be original!!"

He's one of the notorious weekly sellers of pre-1900 USMC crap insignia that he hasn't figured out is garbage in years

Very occasionally, he has something worthwhile

He also has sold numerous WW1 trench clubs, at least 7-10 in the last several months. I think there must be a lot of three legged tables in his house...

OK, I'm getting the hang of these things!
