It looks like a high-quaity souvenir patch for a US GI. Better than an "I was there" medal/ribbon.

 

If it were Nationalist Chinese, it would not be in English.

Do you have a picture of the OD Border twill AAF HQ patch? I never knew one existed.

 

Any idea what it was selling for and what it sold for?

Unfortunately, while they apparently do exist, this one turned out to be bogus.

Found this: The 40th Division was involved in heavy combat in China during WWII and was also one of the units tasked in capturing the surviving airmen of the "Doolittle Mission".

The insignia maybe be related to Chinese Army in India or Chinese Expeditionary Force.
