Tough Ombres

Recently I found a jacket of a Pfc. from the 9th Inf. Div. who (probably) was wounded at the Battle of the Bulge.

Cause I'm unkown in the Battle of the Bulge, I have a question . . .

Does anyone knows the position of the 9th Inf. Div. during the Battle o.t. Bulge?

Because I sometimes visit Belgium I hope to find the location where they fought

Found this...

While you're there you might want to visit the December44 museum in La Gleize..

I do believe you linked the wrong sections from the site as those actions are three months before the Ardennes Offensive Memphis. The following month the 9th Div fights on the Siegfried Line t include the Huertgenwald.

Here is the operative section on the 9th Div's actions during the Ardennes Offensive.

Hi Patches,

You're correct! my bad !

Being from Belgium and living a 90 min drive from the Ardennes, I noticed both the villages Aywaille and La Gleize on the website.

La Gleize still has a Tiger II parked in front of the museum, but that one was put down by the 3 AD not 9th ID in December 44

Funny thing on this Tiger tank, when US army came back to salvage the wreck, the local pub owners wife traded it for a bottle of cognac, and so the Tiger stayed in Belgium and is still in front of the museum today!
