DHolly Posted June 13, 2018 #2 Posted June 13, 2018 The ASMIC Charge Catalog has these as the 1st Barrage Balloon Group for the one with the spider web and the 12th Armored Division Supply Battalion for the one with the sheaves of wheat. Dave
patches Posted June 13, 2018 #3 Posted June 13, 2018 What are the hallmarks a attachments on these two, photos please.
tredhed2 Posted June 13, 2018 #4 Posted June 13, 2018 Anytime you see a DI with a spider web on it, it is for a barrage balloon unit during WW II. However, if the HM is Aresta of Hawaii or CWAH (menory a little hazy right now), with a CB, it is a DI made for collectors and never worn during WW II.
tredhed2 Posted June 13, 2018 #5 Posted June 13, 2018 The bottom DI is 12th AD Trains or 12th Armored QM Bn, take your pick.

An unofficial one tred? if so these are generally made during the occupation period, or might this be one that was unofficially locally approved before the 12th Armd Div left for Europe?

I can't find my resource. It appears to be US made, prior to departure overseas. It does not have the look of a TM DI.
