OLDNAVYNUKESPOOK Posted June 10, 2018 Share #1 Posted June 10, 2018 On the backs of certain holsters like the M1916 and the hip holster for .38 Victory and Commando revolvers, there are belt slots. These holsters usually came with the wire hangers for web belts but were the belt slots ever used with garrison, Sam Browne or other leather belts? If so, anyone got pics or references? TIA! maskman Posted June 10, 2018 Share #2 Posted June 10, 2018 I've got one that came with a garrison belt attached. WWII holster and older garrison belt.

Most Bucheimer 1911 holsters also have belt slots on the reverse even though they are almost always used with the hangar. My thinking would be that they are useless as a holster if you didn't have a web belt, so wiser minds specified the slots to make them work in either instance. Photos: (2) Bucheimer's on (2) different USN hangers (also note, no grommets on the white web duty belts - Quarterdeck/SP Duty)
