The two civilian felony counts listed in the linked story are likely to pale in comparison to his UCMJ proceedings.

Big Chicken Dinner or D.D., what a maroon. We had a Spc-5 get drunk , stole a V-100, drove around the bunker line until he rolled it,IIRC he got a General Court Marshal? Sent home as PFC?

Surprising he only lost two stripes for a stunt like that. That would have been forfeiture of all rank in my unit, a spell in the clink, and then discharge.

Happened in 72 so details hard to remember.IIRC, he had excellent record, can't remember if " dear john" was involved? He was one of the few that had military drivers license, was COs driver for a while. Think he spent the night in L.B.J. .

The Paul Harvey -

The Virginia National Guard first lieutenant accused of taking an armored personnel vehicle in 2018 was found not guilty by reason of insanity, according to reports.

The Richmond Times-Dispatch reported Monday that Joshua Phillip Yabut, 30, was deemed delusional by mental health experts when he took the nearly 12-ton vehicle from Fort Pickett on a ride that ended in downtown Richmond. The Times-Dispatch reported Yabut was found not guilty by reason of insanity of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and violating the terms of his bond.

"Yabut will be evaluated by state doctors to determine whether he should be committed indefinitely or released with conditions, according to the Times-Dispatch. A hearing date was set for Oct. 4."

In today's world the VNG will probably be required to promote him to Captain to compensate for making him stress out.
