Andrew Posted June 8, 2018 Share #1 Posted June 8, 2018 I found this patch in bin full of otherwise pretty ordinary US military patches. It seems to depict, at right, a damaged aircraft? Any significance here? Is it even US military? Admittedly, I may be interpreting it all wrong.
Teamski Posted June 8, 2018 Share #2 Posted June 8, 2018 Certainly looks like a destroyed plane to me. Neat patch! -Ski

MWalsh Posted June 8, 2018 Share #4 Posted June 8, 2018 Is that a Navy Aviation Ordnance rate on the left, and then a broken in half sub on the right?
Teamski Posted June 8, 2018 Share #5 Posted June 8, 2018 The patch probably had a tab that was cut off. Yeah, it is looking more naval than anything else. -Ski
MWalsh Posted June 8, 2018 Share #6 Posted June 8, 2018 That checkmark on it is telling us something too.... just not sure what!
KRIS FORD Posted June 8, 2018 Share #7 Posted June 8, 2018 Is that a Navy Aviation Ordnance rate on the left, and then a broken in half sub on the right? Yes, that IS the AO symbol. (I worked in WEPS on CVN-73 before I was a HT striker..technically, I did more with ordnance than I did as an HT..as I was only HT for a year or so.) bobgee Posted June 8, 2018 Share #8 Posted June 8, 2018 "Sighted Sub - Sank Same" - a famous Naval aviation sub-hunter remark made during WWII. Agree - looks Navy. Really unusual! Bobgee

Brian Keith Posted June 23, 2018 Share #12 Posted June 23, 2018 Would a sub burn like that? With debris falling down? Interesting. BKW
