Popeye the Sailor on Patches or Insignia?

 Share

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Yesterday I wore a patriotic themed Popeye T-shirt my wonderful daughter gave me. It got me thinking that I don't remember ever seeing any WWII era, or later, insignia featuring him. It seems he would have been a natural. If there is anyone who would know, it's some of you around here. If you know of anything, please post. I'd love to see some. Thanks!

BILL THE PATCH

Good question, I know Popeye did a lot of propaganda cartoons during the war. Would be nice to see some ww2 items featuring him

BILL THE PATCH

Pretty cool, Popeye was one of my favorite cartoons, especially the 1930 to 1940's ones. So a 1950 patch is the earliest so far. Wonder why none from ww2?,

Thanks for showing the patches. He was one of my faves too. Like I said, it seems like he would have been a popular subject. Guess nobody liked spinach.
