kanemono Posted June 2, 2018 Share #1 Posted June 2, 2018 Here is a photograph of a 79th NYSNG officer during or after the Civil War. The photograph was taken by J. Wood, 208 Bowery, New York. Wood is famous for taking photographs of sports figures during the period. I can't find any information on Joseph Saing (or Sanig) as Colonel of the 79th Regiment. I did find a Joseph Saing who served in Beaufort SC. in 1862 when the 79th served there during the Civil War but he is not on the roster for the Highlanders. The 79th NYNG existed after the Civil War but I can not find any information on who served as their Colonel. Any help would be appreciated.
