rd12 Posted June 1, 2018 Share #3 Posted June 1, 2018 Other than it's a very good looking helmet, sorry no. Due to the dog/wolf head it could be possibly related to 27th infantry regiment "wolfhounds" - they were part of the 7th Infantry Division in the late '80's and early 90's. Fort Ord & Panama. Buffalo Grunt Posted June 1, 2018 Author Share #4 Posted June 1, 2018 Yeah, I don't think that it's 27th Infantry Related ... Maybe Some type of security K-9, etc .. It wouldn't have been Fort Ord in the early 80s or 90's as I served with the 7th ID then and we had Kevlar helmets then .. This has to be Korea or late 70s at Fort Ord ... Not sure?? From the style of Specialist chevron and the dog's head insignia, I'd say it was used in Korea by a dog handler between 1955 and 1959. The "MSA" could for a _____Security Area. Buffalo Grunt Posted June 1, 2018 Author Share #6 Posted June 1, 2018 Thanks, I was leaning towards that time frame as well .. If I find anything out, I'll post it here. atb Posted June 1, 2018 Share #7 Posted June 1, 2018 When was that non-color bearing unit DUI for the 7th Infantry Division approved? That will help pin point a time period.
