VFW Parade Helmet

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone,

I recently picked up this helmet to go with a VFW dress uniform, and I thought I would share it. Ive seen these around, but never with a manufacturers stamp. Unfortunately, it has a tear on the liner with a period repair. I hope you enjoy it.

I stopped back at the antique shop that had the helmet, and found this to go along with it. It looks well used. Unfortunately, a part of the sticker has torn loose. Does anyone have any idea of what era this might be from?

Avery neat helmet Vic. Is it polished aluminum or khaki? I have never seen one with a maker marking either, although I have seen the plated ones with a VFW sticker on the front.

It is polished aluminum. Sorry about the photo, it has a yellowish hue to it. The dealer had another aluminum helmet there as well but it had an American Legion badge on the front, and the liner was completely different. I may go back and buy it because it was pretty cool, and not that expensive.
