Fixbayonets!

I recently picked up this Spanish American War U.S. Navy jumper at a local antique shop. It was no doubt unissued and never had a rating applied. I was surprised to see the paper tag from the Naval Clothing Factory still tacked to the jumper dated July, 1898. The jumper is huge and the tag reads a size 48 chest, no wonder it went unissued. Here are a few photos of what I think to be an interesting find, thanks for checking it out.

Thanks! I believe this to be from old Bannerman stock from many years ago. By coincidence, I was just at the National Civil War Museum in Harrisburg PA last week and on display was a white U.S. Navy jumper. I noticed that the size was huge, just like my Span Am jumper, quite possible that it also came from Bannerman's.
