preserving WWII boots

check out what i just snatched off ebay for $85!

WWII double buckle boots and the soles are original good year! always wanted a decent pair. were they worth buying or is the leather too rugged? The guy said that there is no rips and only two scratches in the leather, just some discoloration. just need to figure out how to clean up the leather without ruining it.

what do you guys think?

how would i go about restoring the leather TO WEAR not to work in but to wear around?

PECARDS? and did these have leather laces originally? where would i get original laces or repros that aren't cheap leather.
