WW II Jeep Jack

I have an old jeep jack and lug wrench/jack handle. On the lug wrench/handle there are some markings starting with W41-???? The jack and handle are painted OD. How can I bring out these markings so they can be read without lessening the value of the item?

Markings are stamped into the metal.

I would just leave them, if you can see the 41W- no need to go further, if you remove the original paint you will lessen the value Maybe you could sell it to me? I have five jeeps in need of jacks

Naked eye sees 41-W-38?7-25????.
