What is this? WWII toolbag?

Hopefully I am posting in right section. Found this at an antique show. I am wondering what the exact purpose was? It’s very large and well made. I am assuming it is WWII era and that it’s purpose was for holding tools for maybe ground crew?? I tried looking online and can’t find anything like it.

Looks like all of the pouches have different serial numbers and one pouch is marked “tool list” so is obviously some sort of toolbag. But what for?

multi engine planes had a small tool allotment either for the flight engineer or crew chief, if on board, when flying off station..with this tool roll belonging to the ops squadron versus the line MX squadron...
