Hi all,

about rank chevrons on combat clothing:

What would be representative for a US paratrooper in Operation Husky (june 1943 period)?

Wool? Woven? Or are both acceptable?

Thanks for your advice!

All styles of stripes were worn across the board from Torch to the Brenner Pass and Czechoslovakia, there was not set regulations for their wear, the only thing I can think of would be the ordering of NCOs to remove their rank insignia going into combat, if this happened it was either a local unit order, or in a lot of cases a personal thing done by the individual.

Here's but two examples for the 82nd on Sicily, the same would be seen as mentioned throughout the MTO and ETO, even in the States during the course of the war.
