What are these wings?

Any ideas? They are gold-colored, made of Meyer metal...

It looks like a WW2 era Army Air Corps officer's collar insignia with the central silver-colored propeller missing.

According to pilots who flew in Operation Lusty (a late war effort to steal Luftwaffe technology), the very first pilots to cross over from propeller driven aircraft to jets did this. The story goes that, at the end of the pilot's solo in a jet, his compadres would gather round, remove his collar insignia and snap off the props, with a comment along the lines of, "You don't need these to fly anymore." Two pilots and two crew chiefs from the 324th participated in this operation and were the first americans to fly jet aircraft.
