james127 Posted April 15, 2018 Share #1 Posted April 15, 2018 I've recently come into possession of a collection from an WWII veteran who passed away back in the '80s and had served in the Philippines. There were several things that he had brought back from the war including a bolo knife and other odds and ends. He also had this machete looking this pictured below. The family knew nothing about it and frankly, neither did I. Does this look like a bringback item from that area or is it more likely something from somewhere else? I haven't seen it in person yet, but I was told that the handle looks to be made of antler or bone. Thanks! Always looking for stuff from the 40th Infantry Division (Korean War), the 7th Armored Division (WWII), USS Bunker Hill (WWII) and USS Mullany (WWII). sundance Posted April 16, 2018 Share #2 Posted April 16, 2018 Interesting knife in any event, Civilian or military, I'm sure if it was there during the war it was used.
