Törni particularly meritorious has this war as the leLieutenantader of a jaeger platoon and company on many combat and long-range reconnaissance expeditions, and in the last two years has shown that he has the best qualities of a fighter and a resourceful guerrilla leader. After the start of the enemy's major attack, Lieutenant Törni and his company carried out a counterattack on 20 June 1944, destroying several dozen enemies and detaining the enemy in a wide block, thus preventing a threatening siege attempt. 24.–26.6. he found out the forces and plans of the opposing enemy on a successful reconnaissance trip, causing them losses at the same time. 5–6 July Lieutenant Törni with his company stopped the advance of two enemy regiments, which had already managed to get close to an important fork in the road [Tsalkki] and were about to cut off the retreat of our own troops. With the fiercest battle that raged for almost two days straight, he fulfilled his mission to the full, causing the enemy the loss of several hundred men and saving the threatening situation."   Törn's Mannerheim cross in class 2, a review for Mannerheim

Thanks so much for the info! Fascinating to know that his uniforms are out there.

It has taken 18 years to get these things right and there has been a lot of luck along the way

The cloth badge in the picture is the emblem of the department "Törni". Törni was the commander of a company whose mission in the Finnish war was to destroy the Russians
parachute men of the troops "Paratroopers"

The hia badge of the department "Törn" came in 1943, it was worn by every man, on the left hia at chest height
