CGAS Annette Island Donald Duck, Gemsco - Authorized or Borrowed?

Is this an official Disney authorized USCG patch or something borrowed?

I do not have this one in my database of 1,100 or so authorized images (they did around 1,200), so I'm missing images and entries for 100 or so.

 

I have never seen this one in 30 years of collecting.

Aloha David,

 

The patch I originally posted has the look and feel of a late 1950's Gemsco and now I've found a later (1960's) carded Gemsco version online. (From Wess Wessling's USCG Patch Archive)

 

The only real difference is the color as the earlier one has a yellow stripe and the later Gemsco has an orange stripe on the aircraft.

 

I'm thinking that a reputable company like Gemsco, Inc. had to have approval to use Donald Duck on their product?

It could be a Disney design, but I don't have a record of it. Also depends when the patch was created as my database only goes to 1945.

Another difference I see is that one is a Detachment and the other a Station.
