My first station out of USCG boot camp was CG Group/Air Station Corpus Christi, Texas. Just about everyone at the airsta was issued a flight jacket including myself. I was stationed there for a year and a half before transferring to the ATON depot. Here’s my unit patch.

Just a little of a back story on the trailer trash patch, I was stationed at Airsta Traverse City in the 90s and was on the first deployment to the new AirFac in Muskegon. The Coast Guard rented an old beat-up hanger and dragged a single wide trailer in to the parking lot for the duty crew. Air Station Chicago was closed and the local congressman in Chicago wanted coverage, hence Airfac Muskegon.  This patch was the brainchild of a one LT. Kim Pacsai, he loved deploying to the Airfac! He would bribe me and the other enlisted guys and gals at night with dinner, rental movies and Moose Tracks ice cream if we would stay up with him and watch movies, I remember seeing the sun come up many days and we were still watching movies. A few of those nights got pretty long and lasted into the next day when we got a SAR call. If you look at the patch you can see the moose tracks! Mr. Pacsai only made it to 18 years before getting passed over for promotion, too bad as he was an outstanding HH-65 Pilot.
