Venice and St. Augustine Florida

Recommended Posts

Hey guys I’m driving down to Florida this week and I am looking for any places to buy militaria or learn some history! I will be staying in Venice for the majority of the trip, but I will be stopping in St. Augustine to see the fort there. If you have any other suggestions or ideas of places u should go I sure am interested!

Thanks!

-Items related to the 50th Combat Engineer Regiment/Battalion

-Items related to Wheelus Air Force Base Libya, particularly from 1958-1960

-WW2 items belonging to service members from Northern Virginia

-Cheap/Throwaway WW2 named uniforms

Collecting Marine Raider Groups

On the battlefield, Pfc Edward Ahrens, an Able Company BAR man, lay dying, soaked in his own blood.

As his company commander, Lew Walt cradled him in his arms, he surveyed the scene around them. Nearby lay a Japanese officer, a sergeant, and thirteen enlisted men, all dead. Ahrens had been shot twice in the chest and bayoneted three times. He whispered to Walt, "Captain, they tried to come over me last night, but I don't think they made it." Choking back tears, Walt replied softly, "They didn't, Eddy. They didn't."

Yeah going to see the fort tomorrow so that should be fun, driving on the way in just seeing the outside was cool!

Interested if anyone else has any suggestions of places to go to in order to buy militaria. Will keep my eye out fit antique shops too!
