Cool aviation clock

Recommended Posts

Don't know much about these, seems to be working fine. the gasket that was sealing the glass to the clock was shrunken and impeding the hand...so I back off the screws and gently removed it. Everything flows nice and smooth now. There is a tiny bit of play on the glass seeing as it needs a fresh seal/gasket.

I've been wary of over winding it, how many times is it supposed to be wound w/o over winding?

Thanks!

High Flight

Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth

And danced the skies on laughter-silver wings;

Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth

Of sun-split clouds - and done a hundred things

You have not dreamed of - wheeled and soared and swung

High in the sunlit silence. Hovering there

I've chased the shouting wind along and flung

My eager craft through footless halls of air.

Up, up the long delirious, burning blue

I've topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace,

where never lark, or even eagle flew;

and while, with silent, lifting mind I've trod

The high untrespassed sanctity of space,

Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

Years ago I had one that was taken from an F6F drone before it was shot down at China Lake Naval Ordnance Test Station.

I can't remember what happened to it. I sure wish I still had it.
