A Naval Air Station Oceana Search and Rescue patch

Hi all,
Here is a patch for the SAR(Search and Rescue)Unit stationed at the Oceana Naval base.It is a large piece with no plastic backing.I'm unsure as to when it was made/used.If anyone knows,please let me know.

I have the same patch which I believe is affiliated with the Air Station, not a specific squadron. It's an early 1960's patch made by Gemsco

Thanks for the info.I figured it was an older piece.I found another that is a bit different design that is stated to be "designed in 1977".I'm guessing he means that it was the patch design from when he was in during 1977.
