Mr.Jerry Posted March 7, 2018 Share #1 Posted March 7, 2018 I had a VN era parachute (packed with harness) and it was in my van and I had to go snow-blow by my Dad's house and somehow the snowblower leaked pretty much a full tank of gas all over it. It reeks. I have it hanging up outside now (still packed) I put a bunch of loose charcoal in my van to try and absorb some of the smell, but is there anything I can do to save the chute or am I screwed? 268th C.A. Posted March 7, 2018 Share #2 Posted March 7, 2018 If you put a lit match on it, it will dissipate quickly....In all seriousness that is a tough smell to get out. With out unpacking it, and washing it in Dawn dish washing liquid, I don't know... That's awful that happened. Good luck from an old school mechanic who knows what gas smells like...
