Pbaczuk Posted March 5, 2018 Share #1 Posted March 5, 2018 I picked this up today, a 2/5 patch on felt. It measures 3.25" x 3.25". What are your thoughts?

Eric Queen Posted March 23, 2018 Share #5 Posted March 23, 2018 Paul, Others may disagree but I have never been much of a fan of these patches (of this configuration). Have seen tons of them on eBay and they just don't give me a warm and fuzzy. I could of course be wrong but just my opinion. I would prefer a 2/5 patch similar to the one pictured below. Pbaczuk Posted April 1, 2018 Author Share #6 Posted April 1, 2018 Sorry for the delayed reply Eric. Yes, that is a nice one . I have looked the ones currently on eBay and the are “apples versus oranges” to this patch- construction wise. There is a WW1 USMC uniform at the headquarters of the USMC unit I used to belong to before retirement. I will visit and obtain some images of that uniform and gear to use contribute to this worthy discussion. Until then... keep hunting !
warguy Posted April 1, 2018 Share #7 Posted April 1, 2018 I think the thread on Second Division patches here in the forum under the patch section started by WWI nerd is an excellent study of these patches myself. You might peruse this very detailed and well researched thread. Kevin
