Battle of Guerrero 29 March 1916

The Battle of Guerrero on March 29th 1916, was the first military engagement between the rebels of Pancho Villa and the United States during the Mexican Expedition. Pershing dispatched elements of the American 7th Cavalry Regiment and encountered a large force of Villistas at the town of Guerrero in the Mexican state of Chihuahua. Poncho escaped and it was the only chance from that point FWD that his capture could have happened. He (Poncho) later bragged about how the 7th Cavalry after the battle, rode right by where he was hiding in the mountains singing "It's A Long Way to Tipperary".

I picked this up, not as a relic of the battle but as an additive to sit in/set off the Mexican Punitive Expedition collection. Unfortunately I don't have a place to display it among the memorabilia of that cavalry era so it sits where it can among the PI Insurrection cavalry collection. This dates late 30s and into the 40s. It is from Guerrero Mexico and this style is from that village.
