WWII Jungle Field Equipment

A great thread. Thanks to Dustin and all those who have contributed. 

 

In the photo above, the Marine appears to have an M2 jungle first aid kit with light OD piping. I have a similar example that is dated 1943. See image below. How rare, or common, an item is this?

Hi Dustin.

 

Apologies don't know how I missed these posts and images.  I was just looking at the 1910 shovel cover on the soldier on the right it appears to still have the little yellow cardboard cutters tag on it as many of the unissued post war surplus covers had.

Hello Dustin,

 

fantastic photo featuring a rare Carbine canvas waist belt holster in use, these are shown in an artillery manual for soldiers to wear freeing their two hands for carrying and loading shells into artillery pieces.
