Thanks. I had this one already saved. There are a couple more Troop Carrier tunics that I've seen the stripes either attached or part of the grouping.

Great collection I was wondering if you’d be interested in his boots?

That’s my wife’s great uncle, Charles Gaither Grimes, standing to the left of Szabelski. He graduated from Victorville on 21 Dec 1942.

I have a number of scanned photos of Grimes which I received a number of years ago from possibly a family member.

That’s him! I can’t imagine another family member with photos. Maybe I sent them to you. My memory isn’t what it used to be.

I showed the photo to my 82 year old mother-in-law. She was delighted. She remembers him throwing her up in the air, which she hated. Would you mind posting the other photos you have of uncle Chick, you could send them to me, but I don’t know how to send you my email address. Thank you!

It may have been his wartime experiences, but uncle Chuck took to the bottle after the war. He died a bachelor at a relatively your age, and is buried with other family members in the south side of Chicago. We visited his landing site in Normandy a number of years ago.
