badash5946 Posted February 15, 2018 #1 Posted February 15, 2018 I purchased this standard NVA OD uniform and four pocket grenade pouch with two grenades about 22 years ago from a dealer who was breaking up a grouping that he had purchased from aMarine Unfortunately I had missed out on several other of his items - I'd have bought the whole grouping. When they arrived I noticed that the Marine had written his name in both the shirt and on the back of the grenade pouch, and it immediately became an absolute favorite of my uniform and Tet collection.I also purchased a canvas ChiCom rpg carrier from the dealer at about the same time but I do not know if it came from the same Marine - I think it did but cannot recall now.
badash5946 Posted February 15, 2018 Author #2 Posted February 15, 2018 This is the rear of the grenade pouch
badash5946 Posted February 15, 2018 Author #3 Posted February 15, 2018 Closeup of the two grenades and what looks to be shrapnel damage to the sling. The belt and shoes were not a part of the group.
doyler Posted February 15, 2018 #4 Posted February 15, 2018 very nice. Been looking for a uniform but they don't surface here. Thanks for posting.
beerdragon54 Posted February 15, 2018 #5 Posted February 15, 2018 Always looking for that kind of stuff and you have it!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
badash5946 Posted February 19, 2018 Author #8 Posted February 19, 2018 Great items and display! Thanks! I've been taking photos of the uniforms in my collection lately - this one is a fave because of the attribution.
littlewilly Posted March 14, 2018 #10 Posted March 14, 2018 Great display. The last one of these I saw still had the original owner inside. What a mess he was! MHJ
Spy vs Spy Posted March 15, 2018 #11 Posted March 15, 2018 This is one of the best displays / setups I'we seen BadAsh. Even better that it's documented. Very inspiring, now I want to start organizing my two NVA and Main Force setup's. Best Martin
badash5946 Posted March 15, 2018 Author #12 Posted March 15, 2018 Great display. The last one of these I saw still had the original owner inside. What a mess he was! MHJ :-)
badash5946 Posted March 15, 2018 Author #13 Posted March 15, 2018 Thanks all - this is one of my favorite groupings. And...a longtime close collecting friend has just agreed to sell me his sks that i have admired for a long time! The plaque on it says it all, and I will be so happy and proud to add it to my Tet display. More on it later
