This particular uniform is something that crossed my path shortly after starting my current job a year ago. While fascinating in its own right, I was fortunate enough to connect with the original owner and learn about the uniform and his Vietnam experience. While my original writeups were edited for more public consumption, I hope the following is of interest.

I visited Washington DC during the summers of 2016 and 17 both times paying visits to the American History Museum. I saw this uniform on display and took some photographs of it last summer. I was going to post them on here last August but never got around to figuring out a photo hosting site to get them on the forum. In any case what else I found interesting is this uniform is misidentified as being a Tiger Stripe pattern on the small information card at the bottom of the display case. This was the case both years I visited. I was going to point this out to museum staff but never did. There is also an very interesting Tiger Stripe boonie hat in another display case in the Vietnam War section.

Excellent write up by the OP of this thread.

Thank you for posting a very interesting and inspiring account of CPT Redding"s story. I'm wondering, where were the Red Marker Forward Air Controllers that were assigned to the ARVN Airborne Division during the battle for Hue?
