Looking to find out if anyone has ever seen a patch like this. This is a picture of my grandfather, US Army Air Corp. He served in Alaska during the Aleutian Campain 1942-9143. I don't know much else but I"m trying to identify his unit perhaps by the patch.

Thanks!

Tina

Johnny Signor

This is one I have also been trying to find out what unit it is, most likely I would think either an Aleutian based or somewhere of the same climate with the "walrus" design,

It makes me think that they were from the Catalina PBYs that flew in the Aleutians. They are similar to the UK's Supermarine Walrus https://ww2db.com/aircraft_spec.php?aircraft_model_id=219

I thought they were only flown by Navy personnel but it turns out the AAF could have flown them as well.

Where did you find these?

Thanks
