Blu1989 Posted February 7, 2018 Share #1 Posted February 7, 2018 I acquired this a few years ago at a yard sale along with a nice VJ Day pin for $2 and I just got around to putting it in a nice frame. It appears to be a copy of the Selma Times front page showing the surrender of the Japanese on silk and it shows all the major areas and cities throughout Japan. Has anyone else come across something like this in their travels?
sundance Posted February 7, 2018 Share #2 Posted February 7, 2018 I picked up a similar one recently except across the top it reads "Nippon Times". It's about 16 1/2 " square and made of silk. The one I have also has an American flag, a British flag and an Australian flag, Otherwise very similar.
dhodak Posted February 7, 2018 Share #3 Posted February 7, 2018 Are the edges finished so it maybe is intended to be a scarf?
Mr.Jerry Posted February 7, 2018 Share #4 Posted February 7, 2018 I have had a few of these over the years but different designs, kind of neat. Yours looks great framed!
