skipproo1 Posted February 6, 2018 Share #1 Posted February 6, 2018 Greetings I have a complete M1 helmet liner from International molded plastics,Inc that I just bought. It has a nice dark green OD. The (A) washers are made of brass with corrosion inhibitor coating in black introduced after June 1944. The cotton suspension of Sept.1942 was a flat khaki lace that replaced the previous type and later had a khaki cord, which mine has. On one of the suspensions there is an L1 stamped on it, didn't find out what it's for. The sweatband is stamped faintly: W 199 QM 25902 J. & J. From Johnson & Johnson, I have seen the 25905 version but not 25902 = 1942 ? The sweatband has the first pattern adjustable two wire rings. The first pattern was Non-adjustable rayon, partially lined buttoned headband. The nape strap is stamped with a crystal clear: AM. Stay Co. W 199 QM 39942 = 1942 ? The chinstrap could be early WWII. It is stamped with a capital "A". But yet it does make me think as the rivets are in a light green. (European) ? I do know that the liners were intermixed with different accessories and so on to get rid of old stock. Overall the helmet is in great shape and looks like it was never used. Unfortunately one (A) frame rivet is missing. Comments and Ideas would be great.
