John Cooper Posted November 21, 2008 Share #3 Posted November 21, 2008 The wing pattern of the observer wing is an older design similar with AMCRAFT and other patterns. The photos make is hard to determine since the details appear to be very soft. Something else that stands out is the fact the obverse appears to be polished while the reverse in bad shape. Two questions: 1) Are there are markings on the reverse? 2) What is your best guess at what the wing is made of? John
sgtdorango Posted November 21, 2008 Author Share #4 Posted November 21, 2008 Thanks for the reply John, there are no markings on the reverse that I can see, the front does appear to have a shiny plating, the wing is heavy, the back has some greenish patina, maybe it is made of copper or bronze like material? you can see the copperish like color on the back and on a few wear spots on the front......mike
John Cooper Posted November 22, 2008 Share #5 Posted November 22, 2008 Could be a brass wing with a silver plate which was a less expensive wing vs. sterling. John
