A part of Yeager's NF-104 A #60-O762

As known from the movie The Right Stuff,Chuck Yeager was luck to survive the crash of NF-104 A #60-0762 on 12-01-63. A few years back I found this at the impact site. This site is known and has been visited by many people many times over many years. I searched away from the impact with a metal detector and found this buried a few inch's in the sand. The face of the skin was face down and this no doubt protected the paint.

I am unable to post the large format of this photo, but if you look hard toward the rear of the canopy you will see the two arrows and "release handle" above them. The part I found is that part of the canopy.

Here is Yeager in the 104...and the area can clearly be seen...very cool find from a Yeager aircraft...

Thanks for doing that. I was going nuts trying to figure out a way of doing what you did...well done!
