P-59A Posted January 28, 2018 Share #1 Posted January 28, 2018 As known from the movie The Right Stuff,Chuck Yeager was luck to survive the crash of NF-104 A #60-0762 on 12-01-63. A few years back I found this at the impact site. This site is known and has been visited by many people many times over many years. I searched away from the impact with a metal detector and found this buried a few inch's in the sand. The face of the skin was face down and this no doubt protected the paint. P-59A Posted January 29, 2018 Author Share #2 Posted January 29, 2018 I am unable to post the large format of this photo, but if you look hard toward the rear of the canopy you will see the two arrows and "release handle" above them. The part I found is that part of the canopy.

mohawkALSE Posted January 31, 2018 Share #8 Posted January 31, 2018 Cool piece. That looks like a hell of a squeeze to get into that 104 wearing the pressure suit.
