Thanks Michael! It's a killer for sure. I think this may be an aussie made patch but not sure.

Looks like it. Maybe someone who's handled one can chime in. Nice!

Thanks Ron! What other variations are there of this patch? I know this is a rare one but not sure how rare, in fact this is the first one of these I have ever owned, I feel lucky to have found it. any thoughts?

Hi Fritz- an Australian bevo woven Raider Patch sits right at the top of the pyramid of USMC SSI. Other examples I've encountered are the "standard" American machine embroidered patch and the smaller size American embroidered on twill ( for the shirt). The MAC series of patches were made in silk screened versions in ( probably in Hawaii) during WW2, although I have never seen the raider in this version I have had the 1st MAC HQ in that version, so it is not outside the realm of possibilty that that version could exist. - Larry

Thanks for the info Larry! A friend of mine has one of these tucked away in his collection, I'll have to see what style it is, now that I have this one I'll have to find the other types to go with it, you know how it can be, just can't have one example  .
