"Normandy" and "after D-Day" are relative terms. Where in Normandy and how long after D-Day?

It looks like it has taken a beating, but again the question would be when? If it was at all recoverable during the war, I'd be surprised if a GI had not patched it up either for unit or personal use. Transportation was in short supply all around, and anything that could run was being used.

It would be interesting if the data plate could be researched.

The article was vague ...basically "abandoned" after the invasion, recovered by a French farmer...hidden in a barn and used on the farm post war...

From my understanding...the US did not through much away after the June 6th invasion...weapons and vehicles that could be recovered were,, and rebuilt or stripped of serviceable parts by the ordnance departments

glove box data could help ID the jeep...but not sure how it could be traced to unit and loss...

But again...a nice jeep ...and original
